Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Wednesday (13 February) took a holy dip at the Kumbh Mela being organised at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh during his one-day visit to the city.

He was joined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other leaders who also took a holy dip at the largest religious congregation on planet.

Here’s a video of his visit to Prayagraj:

Earlier in January, Adityanath had taken a dip at the Sangam along with his cabinet ministers, India Today has reported.

According to the report, a BJP statement has said that Amit Shah would visit various holy places and meet saints during his one-day visit.

His visit assumes significance in wake of demands by various Hindu groups to bring in a law for early construction of the Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya.
