Upset with the media over “twisting even his minor statements”, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has taken a vow never to speak to the media again, or address press conferences.

Times of India quoted Kumaraswamy as saying, “My comments about a woman farmer leader went viral and caused huge embarrassment to the government after Kannada TV news channels reported my quote out of context. It was done to instigate sugarcane growers and other farmers.”

A spokesperson from the CMO has been quoted by Times of India as saying, “As a result of a few channels misquoting the Chief Minister, he has decided to distance himself from the electronic media and convey all his statements to the print media by way of his office.”

On the other hand, the farmer leader Jayashree Gurannavar will reportedly file a complaint with the cyber-crime police against JD(S) workers for allegedly defaming her on social networking sites.

The entire issue got blown out of proportion because Jayashree who had called the CM nalayak, was spotted holding an iPhone. She claimed that the phone belonged to a journalist.
