In a warning to mobs rampaging in various parts of West Bengal against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), Trinamool leader and the Mayor of Kolkata Firhad Hakim has claimed that if 70 per cent Hindus start supporting Amit Shah then they won’t be able to walk on the street.

In his statement, Hakim has been quoted as saying that if 70 per cent of the Hindus start supporting the Home Minister because of the ongoing violence in the state, then the mobs won’t be able to walk on the streets.

Various instances of violence and rampage have been reported from parts of West Bengal since Friday (13 December) after mosques gave a call for protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill which was passed recently.

The violence has included burning railway stations, tracks, buses, toll booths and raining stones on hapless cops.
