Aam Aadmi Party’s solitary Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann has made a statement that if Modi is a wave then he is a Tsunami, Press Trust of India has reported.
Maan who won from Punjab’s Sangrur by a margin of 1.10 lakh votes was quoted as saying that, “The Modi wave could not shake me off because I dedicated myself to the people of my constituency and earned their trust. The Akali Dal, the Congress and Modi - everyone wanted to defeat me but I stood my ground”.
He added that, “I was born at a place called Sunam in Sangrur. Those born there are called 'sunami'. So, If Modi is a wave, I am a tsunami”.
Once accused of coming drunk to the Parliament, Mann has claimed that he was a serious MP. A few months back Mann had claimed that he decided to quit drinking after being implored by his mother.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
