IIM Amritsar has completed final placements for the 2017-19 batch with students receiving a median salary of Rs 12 lakh, up 14.3 per cent from last year and a top salary of Rs 21 lakh, increasing 23.5 per cent from previous year, reports Economic Times (ET).
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar is the largest in terms of batch size among the third generation IIMs and is currently mentored by IIM Kozhikode.
While the median salary for the previous batch stood at Rs 10.5 lakh, the highest domestic offer was Rs 17 lakh. The average domestic salary of the batch also surged by 10.7 per cent from Rs 11.02 lakh in 2016-18 to Rs 12.2 lakh for the current batch.
In the recruitment session, more than 52 recruiters including many first-timers offered jobs to the students. Some of them included Accenture, Anand Rathi, Apollo Munich, CRISIL, Deloitte, GroupM, HDFC Bank, ICICI Lombard, KPMG, Motilal Oswal, Tata Teleservices, Thomas Cook and Trident, among others.
Segments like Banking Financial Services Insurance (BFSI), IT/ITeS, consulting, telecommunications, consumer goods and advertising media were among the most active ones.
Late But Fast Catching Up
IIM Nagpur also recently stated that it had achieved 100 per cent placement for its third batch of 55 post-graduate programme (PGP) students. The institute is also among the third generation of IIMs.
