French photographer Cedric Guerre has captured stunning photographs of Indian Air Force’s (IAF) very own Rafale fighter jet as it underwent air trials ahead of a formal handover to India by Dassault.
Here are the photographs clicked by Guerre, which were shared on Twitter by former IAF pilot Sameer Joshi.
In the pictures the sleek fighter jet can be seen sporting IAF’s colours while on a routine conversion flight in France.
The handover of the first Rafale jet expected to take place in an official ceremony on 20 September which will be attended by IAF chief B S Dhanoa and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
IAF has already completed the preparations to induct the fighter aircraft in its fleet, including readying required infrastructure and training the pilots.
The strategically located Ambala air force station, which is around 220 km from the Indo-Pak border, in Haryana is expected to host the first squadron of the Rafale jets.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
