Tesla chief Elon MuskElon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, said on Tuesday (24 May) that they will likely choose a site for their new factory by the end of 2023.
Musk said India is "absolutely" interesting when a Wall Street Journal reporter asked about the country.
Only last week, India's Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology told Reuters that Tesla is determined ("serious") to set up a manufacturing base in the country.
Earlier this year, Tesla revealed plans to establish a gigafactory in Mexico to increase worldwide output, solidifying its position as the top automaker.
