India achieved a new milestone in Covid vaccination, with administration of over 1.75 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses till 4 pm on Thursday (17 September).
This is the highest number of doses administered in a single day since the Covid vaccination began in India on 16 January earlier this year.

Earlier on 31 August, over 1.41 crore Covid vaccine doses were administered to the beneficiaries across the country.
Cumulatively, over 78.32 crore doses have been administered across the country, out of which 58.95 crore beneficiaries have received the first dose of the vaccine and over 19,36 crore have got the second shot.
It should be noted that six Covid-19 vaccines have been approved for emergency use in the country by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). These include Serum Institute of India's Covishield, Bharat Biotech's Covaxin, Russian Sputnik V Covid vaccine, Zydus' ZyCoV-D, and the jabs from Moderna and J&J.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
