The IED was planted 1.5 kms inside the Line of Control in Rajouri district's Naushera sector. The officer is from the Corps of Engineers. Reports have suggested the hand of terrorists in planting this explosive device.
Another soldier was injured in the explosion and is currently undergoing treatment.
This incident comes just days after the dastardly Pulwama terror attack in which 38 CRPF jawans were martyred.
It has been reported that, injured CRPF jawans were attacked by stone pelters following the Pulwama terror attack which claimed the lives of 38 soldiers.
CRPF has vowed that it would neither forget not forgive the terror attack and has promised to avenge the martyred jawans.
