The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is set to open up a new world-class executive lounge at the New Delhi Railway Station.
The lounge has been set up at the first floor of platform number 1 and has been designed on the looks of an airport lounge to provide greater facilities for the comfortable wait of passengers during pre-departures and post arrivals.
Several complementary as well as paid services like wi-fi, channel music, different beverages, multi-cuisine buffets will be made available in the lounge.
Arrangements have been made for more amenities like recliners, shoe shiners, a completely operational business centre with printer, computer etc.
Separate bath facilities have been created for men and women and an inclusive overall package that offers two hours of stay in the lounge along with wash and change amenities and a one-time buffet has also been designed for a cost of Rs 600.
IRCTC already operates such executive lounges at the railway stations in Madurai, Sealdah, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Agra. A similar facility already exists on the ground floor at platform number 16 of the New Delhi station since 2016.
The company plans to build such stations in all crucial and state capital stations in the coming times, Economic Times reports.
