Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Captain Amarinder Singh, on Wednesday (21 November) announced the arrest of the one accused in Sunday’s grenade attack and has claimed proof of ISI’s involvement in it. Displaying a picture of the grenade, the CM said that it carries ISI’s signature.

The grenade attack at Amritsar’s ‘Nirankari Bhavan’ on Sunday (18 November) led to three deaths and left over 20 people injured.

Furthermore, the CM said that the Police busted 17 modules, arrested 81 people, and seized 77 arms and praised the efforts of the forces as reported by Times of India.

"This is the type of grenade which has been taken from other modules. This is the one being used against forces in Kashmir. This one is made under license by Pakistan ordnance factory and is filled with pellets," he said.

The person arrested has been identified as 26-year old Bikramjit Singh. The CM added that the second accused involved in the attack has also been identified and efforts are on to arrest him.

Following the Amritsar attack, the Punjab Police have bucked up their security arrangements in the state and have increased highway-patrolling.
