A worker of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was attacked in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)'s Budgam district this morning (9 August) in what marked third such attack on BJP affiliated worker or leader within the last five days, reports Hindustan Times.

Abdul Hamid Najar was out on a morning walk when he was shot at by unidentified gunmen. The 38-years-old district president of the BJP OBC Morcha was immediately rushed to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

Prior to this, on Thursday (6 August), BJP's Sarpanch from South Kashmir's Qazigund area, Sajjad Ahmad was shot and he later succumbed to his injuries while being treated in the hospital. Another BJP Sarpanch Arif Ahmad Shah had also been critically injured in the attack carried out by the terrorists in the same district.

Furthermore, just last month, in a barbaric attack, terrorists had dastardly killed a former BJP district president Waseem Bari, his father and also his brother inside their shop. It should be noted that Bari had a 10-member strong police security team accorded to him, who were all first suspended, and later arrested, as they were not with him when he had been attacked.
