As the battle against Coronavirus intensifies, Karnataka is joining hands with private agencies to plug gaps in essential services caused due to the pandemic.
As 108 ambulances in Bengaluru have now been devoted to cater to Covid-19 cases alone, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced that 100 cabs each of Ola and Uber in Bengaluru will function as ambulances.
For those medical emergencies that are not related to Corona, these 100 vehicles each provided by the private players will pitch in to support ferrying of patients to health centres.
This service can be availed by people either through the apps of the respective service providers or by calling 9154153917/18/19. This facility is available only within Bengaluru city limits.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
