After a humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha (LS) elections 2019 Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has called for an informal meet cabinet meeting on Friday, reports Zee News.

The CM has also called a JD(S) legislature meeting in the afternoon to review the results of the LS polls.

Both the coalition parties managed to bag only one seat each. While BJP won 25 out of the 27 seats it contested, Sumalatha, an independent candidate backed by BJP defeated chief minister’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy in Mandya.

Kumaraswamy and his cabinet colleagues of the Congress-JD(S) coalition government would also discuss on the future course of the ruling dispensation. The Congress-JDS alliance government in Karnataka completed one year on 23 May. The poor show in the elections has created ripples within the already troubled alliance.
