A man died in a polling booth in Kerala’s capital of Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday (23 April) after he found out that his name was not in the voting list, News18 has reported.
The person has been identified as Mani.
On the same day, two elderly citizens also died while waiting in the queue to cast their votes; another voter passed away a short while after voting.
65-year-old Vijayi collapsed while she was waiting in a queue at the Chokli Rama vilasam LP School booth close to Panur. Even though she was taken the hospital, her life could not be saved.
Similarly, 80-year-old Paapachan collapsed and died while at a polling station at Vadasserikkara in Pathanamthitta district.
In a different incident, 72-year-old Venugopala Marar felt uneasiness after she came back home from voting, and was pronounced dead by the time she was taken to a hospital in Taliparamba.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
