From 1 November, Alliance Air will be launching a daily flight service from Hyderabad to Bengaluru via Kohlapur. The airline is a completely-owned subsidiary of Air India. The to and fro services have been introduced after several requests came from citizens who wanted air connectivity with the two cities.
For the flights, an ATR-72 aircraft will be used. Departing at 10.45 am from Hyderabad, the AI-9875 flight will reach Kolhapur ten minutes past noon every day, apart from Tuesdays. On Tuesdays, the flight to Kolhapur from Hyderabad departs at 11.40 AM and reaches at 1.05 PM. From Kolhapur to Bengaluru, the flight departs at 12.35 PM and arrives at 2.15 PM (Except Tuesdays), The New Indian Express reported.
The services have been started as a part of the larger mission called ‘Connect India’. The union government has been emphasising on regional connectivity to tier-2 and tier-3 cities. UDAN (Ude Desh Ke Aam Nagrik) scheme has been progressing well, by connecting many smaller cities across India at an affordable rate to make air travel accessible to the common man.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
