The lawyer Vikas Singh who is also the former additional solicitor general made this statement over the timing of the family's FIR which has now been filed with the Patna Police. Singh also claimed that the matter was heading in a different direction under the Mumbai Police.
Singh added that the Patna Police too was hesitant in filing the FIR but then Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Minister Sanjay Jha stepped in.
Patna (Central) City SP has meanwhile said that preliminary investigation has begun in the matter and all the individuals named by the family have been booked.
Those booked includes Sushant's reported girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, who has been accused by the late actor's father of instigating him to commit suicide.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
