Cricketer Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife, Haseen Jahan, was detained by the police on Sunday (28 April) for creating nuisance at her in-laws' place, IANS has reported.
Jahan, who is separated from her husband reached Shami’s place in Sahaspur Ali Nagar village in UP and started creating a ruckus. After being asked to leave she locked herself and her child in a room.
The family had to call the police to settle the issue, but as they were unable to contain the situation they took Jahan into custody and later released her on bail. Shami is currently playing in the twelfth season of the IPL for Kings XI Punjab team.
Haseen Jahan while talking to reporters said: “I have come to my husband’s house and have every right to stay here. My in-laws are misbehaving with me, and the police is supporting them. They should have arrested them, but they are taking me to the police station”.
Jahan a model by profession was also a former cheerleader for Kolkata Knight Raiders and quit modelling after marrying Shami in 2014. She accused Mohd Shami with domestic violence and sexual harassment on 15 March 2019. The next hearing of the case is on June 22 which falls in the middle of the World Cup Tournament.
