Budget carrier Indigo airlines is planning to run direct flights from Prayagraj to Dehradun. After commencing direct flight from Prayaraj to Bengaluru on 15 November, Indigo will start Dehradun-Prayagraj flights from 15 December, Amar Ujala has reported.

In order to facilitate maximum participation of people in the Kumbh being held in Prayagraj, the air connectivity between Prayagraj and other important cities of the country is being bolstered.

Prayagraj will get a direct air connectivity to Bengaluru from 15 November onwards. Direct flights to and from Kolkata and Raipur will also be started by the airline from November end.

Civil Aviation Minister of Uttar Pradesh Nand Gopal Nandi had, on 26 October, tweeted about the expansion of the air services from Prayagraj and direct flight from Prayagraj to Bengaluru from 15 November.

In this series, the airline is also preparing for a direct flights from Prayagraj to Dehradun. Indigo could deploy its ATR planes for the Prayagraj-Dehradun route.

According to the report, a survey conducted by Indigo revealed that people wanted direct air connectivity to Dehradun.

There are 13 citites to where direct flights from Prayagraj are proposed. While the direct flights from cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Nagpur and Indore have begun, flights from Bengaluru, Raipur, Kolkata, Dehradun, Bhopal, Gorakhpur, Pune and Mumbai will commence before the year ends.
