Mumbai Police Nabs Underworld Lynchpin Dawood Ibrahim’s Close Aide Tariq Parveen

In a major shot in the arm for Mumbai Police's fight against the underworld menace, the force on Sunday (9 February) arrested underworld don and lynchpin Dawood Ibrahim's close aide Tariq Parveen from the city's Dongri area, reports Asian News International (ANI).

It should be noted that Parveen was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with an extortion case on the basis of the intelligence received from another accused named Ejaz Yusuf Lakdawala in a separate case.

Lakdawala had been arrested by the Mumbai Police earlier and the information revealed by him proved crucial in the nabbing of Parveen.

Parveen's arrest was carried out by the Anti Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Police. The concerned FIR against him, Lakdawala and another Dawood aide Salim Furniturewala had been lodged in MRA Marg police station of the city.
