The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the residence of actor-model Arjun Rampal in Mumbai, Times of India reports.
The raids were conducted in three places at Andheri, Khar and Bandra at 7am on Monday morning. This includes the actor’s home and office too. At around 2:30 pm, ANI reported that NCB officials have left Arjun Rampal’s premises.
The NCB officials have now summoned Rampal on 11 November and his electronic gadgets have also been seized.
Rampal’s partner Gabriella Demetriades’s brother Agisilaos Demetriades was arrested by the NCB on 19 October in relation to a drug case. He secured bail through a special court on 6 November. However, the agency again took him in their custody with respect to another drug case.
DNA reports that alprazolam tablets along with hashish were seized from Demetriades whereas he is believed to be in touch with other drug peddlers related to the investigation too.
Ex-Dharma Productions employee Kshitij Prasad was arrested earlier in the same case. Both Demetriades and Prasad are reported to have been in contact with a Nigerian national who was arrested for supplying cocaine in the metropolis city.
Raids were conducted at Bollywood producer Firoz Nadiawala’s house on Saturday. Following that, Nadiawala’s wife Shabana Saeed was arrested by the NCB and taken to a medical examination subsequently.
“On Saturday, we conducted a major strike in Western Mumbai and Navi Mumbai where we recovered ganja in commercial quantity, Mephedrone and other different drugs. We also intercepted five peddlers and based on that we conducted and recovered some drugs today morning from his house which was supposed to be part of the same seizure,” NCB official Sameer Wankhede had said to ETimes.
