With political volatility soaring high in the State of Maharashtra, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson Nawab Malik claimed on Sunday (24 November) that his party led by Sharad Pawar has the support 50 of its 54 MLAs, reports Asian News International (ANI).
Malik, speaking to media persons also exuded confidence that the MLAs who are presently siding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would soon return to the NCP's fold. Malik also added that he was hoping for incumbent Deputy (Dy) Chief Minister (CM) Ajit Pawar to return back to the party's fold.
It should be noted that the statement from Malik came after Dy CM Pawar took to his official Twitter handle on Sunday (24 November) evening and claimed that he was in the NCP and shall always remain a member of the party.
Further, in his tweets, Dy CM Pawar also asserted confidence that the present alliance between the BJP and NCP led by him would go on to provide the State of Maharashtra a stable government for five years.
