The Karnataka State Minority Welfare, Waqf and Hajj Department in a circular has directed that no five-time public prayer congregations including Jummah and Taraveeh prayers would be allowed at mosques during Ramzan till the lockdown is in place, ANI has reported.
The circular adds that no mosque members would be allowed to use the public address system during the Ramzan namaz and it can only use it during the Azaan that too at a low decibel.
Only the Imams and staff members would be allowed to perform the Namaz inside the mosque.
The circular adds that organisations of Iftaars and porridge distribution points inside Mosque and Dargah premises will not be allowed. No eatery shops will also be allowed in such areas.
