Responding to Rahul Gandhi's "Mohabbat ki dukaan (shop of love)" outreach in the US, BJP chief J P Nadda has said the Congress leader is actually running a "Nafrat (hatred) ka mega shopping mall."

According to Nadda, Gandhi is spreading hatred by creating divisions that don't exist in the country.

At the book launch of Amrit Kaal Ki Ore by Shivanand Dwivedi and K K Upadhyay, Nadda accused Gandhi of questioning India's vaccines and surgical strikes, as well as offering support to those seeking to divide the country.

Additionally, Nadda said even US President Joe Biden expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested his autograph, citing the abundance of requests he has received to participate in the event involving Modi.

According to the BJP chief, India has managed to avoid the negative impact of Covid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war on the economy and maintain growth.

"The growth rate forecast for the US is 1.4%, China 5.2%, but the forecast for India is at 6.1%. Morgan Stanley shows it could touch 7.2%. Rahul Gandhi should know the country he has gone to has a growth of just 1.4% while India could be at 7.2%."

During his week-long tour to Washington, DC, New York, and San Francisco, Gandhi has been vocal about his criticisms of the BJP government.

He has accused the government of religious division, centralised resource allocation, and alienation of Dalits and Muslims.

Additionally, he has questioned the government's foreign policy and the safety of Indian citizens.

According to Nadda, the Prime Minister's policies have effectively separated India and Pakistan in the eyes of global leaders, whereas earlier "every global leader would talk about these two countries in the same breath."

Under his leadership, India has moved away from vote bank politics to report card politics, and from dynasty to democracy and meritocracy, Nadda said.
