(Pic via Wikimedia Commons)Marking the year long 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Films Division is screening two documentary films on his life on 23 January, 2021, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in a statement on Friday (22 January).
Films being streamed are The Flame Burns Bright by Ashis Mukherjee, and Netaji by Arun Chaudhuri on the great leader’s life and his heroic and relentless fight for India’s independence from the imperial British rule.
Both the documentaries will be streamed on Films Division website and YouTube channel throughout the day.
On Tuesday (19 January) the government has decided to celebrate the birthday of Netaji that falls on 23 January as Parakram Diwas every year.
Ahead of the 125th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Indian Railways has decided to rename Howrah-Kalka Mail as 'Netaji Express'.
In December 2020, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi led Central government constituted a high-level committee headed by Home Minister Amit Shah to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of revered freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The committee will decide on the activities for a one year-long commemoration which would begin on 23 January 2021.
The Committee will also lend guidance to the commemoration activities in Delhi, Kolkata and other places associated with Netaji and Azad Hind Fauj, both in India as well as overseas.
