Over 70 Per Cent Of India's Adult Population Administered First Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine: Health Ministry

In a significant achievement, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 91 crore mark, the Health Ministry said on Monday (4 October).
The ministry said that as many as 91,47,00,041 Covid vaccine doses have been administered across the country.
India has also administered more than 70 per cent of its adult population with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the ministry added.
More than 65 lakh (65,63,089) Vaccine Doses were administered till 7 pm on Monday.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated the nation on administering more than 70 per cent of the population with the first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine.
"Strong Nation, Rapid Vaccination: India has administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination on 70% of the population. Under PM Narendra Modi, India is achieving new landmarks in the fight against the pandemic. Keep it up India, let us fight Corona," Mandaviya said in a tweet on Monday.
It should be noted that India began the vaccination drive on 16 January this year.
