In an exciting development, it has been reported that Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved is considering bidding for the Indian Premier League (IPL) title sponsorship slot.
“We are considering the IPL title sponsorship for this year, since we want to give the Patanjali brand a global marketing platform,” Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala told Economic Times.
He also added that Patanjali is considering making proposal to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as the move will give them a ‘global marketing platform’.
The suspension of Vivo’s title sponsorship with the Indian Premier League (IPL) has opened up the market for a new brand to come in for the 2021 edition of the cash-rich league.
Earlier, it was reported that e-commerce giant Amazon, Mukesh’s Ambani Jio and even e-learning platform Unacademy are in the race for the title sponsorship and Patanjali may be in for a tough competition to achieve the coveted sponsorship.
