Under Piyush Goyal, the Indian Railways introduced its fastest train - Vande Bharat Express and eliminated all unmanned railway crossings in the country. His tenure also saw the introduction of new modern train rakes, better passenger amenities and improved punctuality.
He had also taken temporary charge of the Finance Ministry and presented NDA-I’s final budget in which the Income Tax exemption limit was extended to Rs 5 lakh.
