An FIR was filed against 35 individuals in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad area on charges of purposely defying the lockdown which has been ordered to curb the spread of coronavirus, Times Now has reported.
This incident happened on Friday (27 March) when these 35 individuals had gathered on the terrace of a house to perform Namaz. After the cops got to know of this incident, an FIR was filed at the Chikhali Police Station.
Subsequently the violators were booked under various sections of the IPC like section 269 - negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life and section 188 - disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
