Six members of the political arm of radical Islamist organisation PFI arrested by the Bengaluru police, were plotting to kill South Bangalore MP Tejasvi Surya and prominent BJP supporter Chakravarty Sulibele during a pro-CAA rally on 22 December, Daiji World has reported.

The report has identified two out of the six SDPI members as Sadiq and Akbar. Karnataka’s Tourism Minister C T Ravi, who also took to twitter to inform about the murder plot, identified the rest four as Syed, Irfan, Sanaullah and Ameen.

While calling for a ban on SDPI, Ravi also congratulated and thanked Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai and the Bengaluru police for nabbing the culprits.

The radical Islamists who entered the venue on motorbikes were first arrested on charges of attacking a BJP-RSS supporter at the venue. When they were arrested and questioned over the attack, they are said to have spilled the beans about plotting to kill Surya and Sulibele.

The decision of Surya and Sulibele to enthusiastically support CAA is said to have angered the radical Islamists, who wanted to execute the murder in a crowded place.

The rally on 22 December in which Surya and Sulibele participated was to spread awareness among the masses over CAA so that they are not mislead over the act.
