Tennis star Rafael Nadal has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend of 14 years, Xisca Perello, at a castle in Mallorca on Saturday (19 October).
According to reports in the Spanish media, Nadal, a 19-time grand slam winner, had more than 300 guests invited for the wedding which happened in the Spain’s most expensive property - ‘La Fortaleza’.
The nuptials with Perello was performed at a British-owned fortress.
The 33-year old Nadal met his wife through his younger sister Maribel, a childhood friend of Perello.
The notable absentee in the wedding was Roger Federer, Nadal’s long time rival on the court and a good friend outside, who was in a practice session ahead of Basel Tournament.
It has been speculated that the Swiss tennis ace was not invited to Nadal wedding despite early suggestions. The duo have in recent days become close friends after enjoying a major on-court rivalry.
Ahead of the wedding Federer had confirmed that he won’t be attending the wedding. A couple of month ago after he was touted as one of the wedding guests, he had claimed he had no knowledge of the ceremony.
