Congress president Rahul Gandhi never ceases to amuse, and time and again, the Indian citizen is treated to ideas that seem so fantastic, that on reflection, they actually appear absurd.

Students of Bharatiya Vidyapeeth, an institution run by the Kadam family in Pune which has close ties to the Congress party, were at the receiving end of such fantastical thoughts, so much so that many were left perplexed after the meet. Soon after the interaction ended, India Today went to the students who witnessed Gandhi’s address, to collect their opinions.

Putting forth his voice, a boy said, “Everything was scripted and we were not allowed to ask questions. He already knew what he was going to be asked”.

Joining him was another teenager who said, “Answers that he gave were not in consonance with the questions that were asked of him. This is not a stage to get emotional and narrate all the fond memories of one’s childhood. We came from distant places to get the right answers to our questions. We were expecting mature and proper answers.”

The same boy went on to praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Pariksha pe Charcha’ saying, “Modi’s interactions with students are way more relevant and career-based. Whereas, that of Rahul is all for elections. Looking at all these, we can judge whom should we vote for”.

One more boy, joining the talk, said, “Very few students had the opportunity to interact with Rahul Gandhi. May be just 5-6 students.”
