Reliance Jio GigaFiber has continued to feature in the top three of the latest Netflix Internet Service Providers (ISP) Speed Index, India Today reports. In July, Jio Giga Fiber offered an average network speed of 3.5 Mbps, a marginal improvement from the previous month when it recorded 3.49 Mbps.
Jio used to be at the top until it was dethroned by 7 Star Digital, back in April. 7 star Digital continued to top the list with 3.53 Mbps, a slight reduction from last month’s 3.54 Mbps. Sandwiched between 7 Star and Jio, is Spectranet with an average speed of 3.52 Mbps, a slight rise in the average speed when compared to June’s 3.5 Mbps.
Airtel V-Fiber fell in the fourth after managing to improve speeds. The Bharti Airtel’s broadband service achieved 3.40 Mbps compared to previously recorded 3.35 Mbps. The same can be said for Hathway Broadband, which increased average speeds from 2.89 Mbps in June to 2.97 Mbps in July.
It is important to note that Reliance Jio GigaFiber relies on fibre optics compared to the majority of the operators who use optical fibre network. Secondly, Reliance Jio GigaFiber was running in its preview stage, with the service’s commercial rollout to happen on 5 September.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
