Reliance Jio GigaFiber Prices Slashed By Rs 2,000 As Launch Date Becomes Imminent: Report

The Reliance Jio GigaFiber broadband service has reportedly become cheaper, even before hitting the market. The Jio Giga Fiber was introduced in 2018, and since then has been the leader in terms of internet speeds.

The service under its preview offer, customers need to pay a security deposit of Rs 4,500 and do not need to pay any additional subscription charges until the commercial launch. While there is no official confirmation of the plan, it looks like the company has introduced the option to enhance its reach.

However, it seems that the Mukesh Ambani led company has brought in a cheaper plan. According to India Today, many people have taken to social media informing that the service is available at Rs 2,500 under the preview offer, which is Rs 200 lesser that the existing security deposit.

The lesser priced service would, however, have some compromises, various reports say. The cheaper plan reduces speed by half when compared to Rs 4,500 plan. It would provide 50 Mbps speed compared to GigaFiber’s full speed of 100 Mbps. The remaining benefits would stay the same,
