The RSS is reportedly planning to field actor Mohanlal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Thiruvananthapuram constituency, reports Mathrubhumi.

The RSS leadership of the state, according to the report wants Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajashekharan, Mohanlal or BJP State general secretary K Surendran to contest from the Thiruvananthapuram constituency. It is also reportedly conducting a public survey in that regard.

RSS highly values the state capital seat and is reportedly trying to seek an opinion from party activists public and communities.

However, reports suggest that Mohanlal’s friends and supporters don’t want him to be associated with any particular political party.

Earlier, senior BJP leader and its lone Kerala legislator, O Rajagopal had confirmed that BJP is considering Mohanlal for the Thiruvananthapuram constituency. Rajagopal had claimed that even though Mohanlal is not a BJP member, he has a favourable stance. He added that the actor is being encouraged to contest from their party ticket.

The actor has in the past supported the central government’s schemes and had also recently visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
