A memorial of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was dedicated to the nation on his 94th birth anniversary, Economic Times has reported. ‘Sadaiv Atal’ memorial will be managed by a trust headed by Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to the former prime minister at the memorial built near the Rashtriya Smriti Sthal, where his last rites were performed on 17 August. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and family members of Vajpayee also paid their tributes at the memorial.
The former PM’s birthday is being celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’ by the Central government. PM Modi will also be inaugurating the Bogibeel Bridge today to mark the former PM’s birth anniversary. The bridge was a brainchild Vajpayee. On the bridge lies a two-line railway track and a three-lane road on the two decks.
