The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has opened up its viewing gallery for the common public so that they would be able to watch the launch of Chandrayaan 2 live on 15 July, New Indian Express has reported.
The viewing gallery which has a capacity of 5,000 has been set up at a distance of around 5 km from the launch site, thus allowing visitors to get a full view of the rocket launch.
ISRO will also set up large screens at the gallery to educate viewers about the launch and the pre and post launch activities which the space agency will undertake.
To grab the seats, one needs to register online here, and admission would be granted on a first come first serve basis.
The liftoff has been scheduled for 2.51 am on 15 July ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Touchdown on the lunar surface is expected on 6 September.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
