Lieutenant General K J S Dhillon, Commander of the Chinar Corps has made an appeal to Kashmiri mothers to wade the valley’s youth from activities like pelting stones on security forces, ANI has reported.
Dhillon said that security forces had conducted an in-depth analysis of the youth who had picked up the gun and found that 83 per cent of them had a record of stone-pelting. "If today your child throws stones at security forces for Rs 500, then he will become a terrorist tomorrow" he said.
He further stated that most militants were eliminated by the forces within the first year of their activities.
"In 2019, 7 per cent of terrorists have been killed within 10 days of joining (militancy). 64 per cent of terrorists who pick up a weapon is eliminated within the first year. So, I request parents to stop your child from doing stone-pelting, as chances are there that he would be eliminated within the first year of picking up his weapon," Dhillon appealed to Kashmiri parents.
The Commander’s statement came at a time when an advisory has been issued to Hindu pilgrims to immediately end their stay in the valley and head back home. Pakistan’s plans to attack the yatra have been uncovered by the Army with the discovery of a M-24 American sniper rifle and a landmine with Pakistan ordnance factory markings.

Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
