A panel chaired by former CBI special director M L Sharma had been appointed to investigate Sinha’s involvement in the scuttling of the probe. The panel has called Sinha’s meeting with the accused persons “completely inappropriate”. In its report, the panel said, “prima facie there was an attempt” on Sinha’s part “to influence the investigation” in this case.
