Tamil Nadu: Annamalai Gets Z-Category Security

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to provide Z-category security to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai. He is provided Y-category security at present.

The decision was taken based on a report from the Intelligence Bureau (IB). It said that Annamalai faced increased threats from religious extremists and Maoists.

According to a report by India Today, a total of 33 personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) would be tasked with providing security to him.

Few days back Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) faction leader Chirag Paswan and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai too were provided with Z-category security.
