Governor RN Ravi met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi today (8 July).
The meeting comes after Governor Ravi recently dismissed Senthil Balaji from the council of ministers, only to later keep the order in abeyance based on advice from Shah.
Further steps on the matter would now be taken after consulting the Attorney General.
Criticising Governor Ravi, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) said that the move was void ab initio as he did not have the power to dismiss a minister.
