Punjab police have arrested five people after an explosion near the Golden Temple in Amritsar occurred around 1 am on Friday (11 May).
This is the third low-intensity explosion in five days near Heritage Street in Amritsar.
"Amritsar low-intensity explosion cases solved," the Director General of Punjab Police said.
Earlier two blast occured, one on 6 May and the other on 8 May, and today's low-intensity blast happened almost two kilometers away from Heritage Street, a famous tourist attraction near the Golden Temple.
The NIA and Punjab Police gathered forensic samples from the blast site and are investigating the incident.
According to the preliminary reports, the explosion had no triggering mechanism, NDTV cited sources as saying.
The explosive used in the two blasts on Heritage Street in Amritsar were packed with two health drink cans.
One person was injured in the blast that took place on Monday. The police found no detonator and suspect that the explosive was kept in a container.
The explosive was crudely made, and no shrapnel was used, according to the police.
One person was injured, and the glass facades of some buildings were damaged in the blast on 6 May.
