Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with Amul India Ltd, is planning to develop the milk industry in the state. Deb, to implement his plan of distributing 10,000 cows to farmers in the villages of Tripura, has sought help from Amul.
Under the brand of Amul, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) has become the largest food company which markets milk and milk products.
The Tripura government is keen on drawing wisdom from Amul, which has considerable experience in this sector. The Chief Minister also hoped that the coalition with Amul would help in solving the unemployment problem in Tripura.
Tripura reportedly produced 174,260 tonnes of milk in 2017.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
