Union Budget 2022: 400 Vande Bharat Trains To Be Manufactured During Next Three Years, Says FM Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday (1 February) presented the Union Budget 2022-23 in the Parliament.

In her budget speech, the Finance Minister announced that 400 new generation Vande Bharat express trains will be developed and manufactured during the next three years.

"400 new generation Vande Bharat train with better energy efficiency and passenger riding experience will be developed and manufactured during next three years," the minister said.

She also announced that 100 PM Gati Shakti cargo terminals for multi-modal logitstics facilities will be developed during the next three years.

The Finance Minister further said that innovative ways of financing and faster implementation will be encouraged for building metro system of appropriate type at scale.
