After the success in bending the curve of Covid19 second wave, Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government is going to begin vaccination for people above 18 years of age in all the districts from 1 June.

Officials said that the state government will increase the vaccination rate to thrice of what it currently stands by extending vaccination drive to the remaining 52 districts from the current 23 districts of the state, reports Hindustan Times.

“The campaign for 18+ is being extended to all the districts of the state from June 1. We have decided to inoculate at least 1,000 citizens every day in the less populated districts," said additional chief secretary Amit Mohan Prasad.

The state government also plans to start ‘Workplace Covid vaccination centres (CVC)’ to encourage vaccination among young people. At least four workplace vaccination centres will be established in each district where one will be for the district court, two will be in the government offices and one for the journalists and media personnel along with the employees of the information department.

In another major move, the Yogi government has decided to extend free treatment to those suffering from problems in the post-Covid-19 phase.

The move will benefit one in 10 Covid-19 positive patients who get hospitalised for management of the infection but cannot be discharged on account of other complications.
