Uttar Pradesh (UP)'s landmark 340-kilometres-long Purvanchal Expressway will be dedicated to the public from 26 January next year, ahead of the official deadline of April 2021, reports Economic Times.
The development was made public by State's additional chief secretary (home) Awanish K Awasthi, who is spearheading Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath's flagship project under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) which is managing the project.
The foundation stone of the project was laid down by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi in 2018. Once completed, it would provide fast, seamless and smooth connectivity from Lucknow to Ghazipur.
Meanwhile, Awasthi also shared that another flagship expressway project of the Government, the 296-kilometres-long Bundelkhand Expressway will be made operational by the end of 2021.
The Bundelkhand Expressway gains much importance also because it will directly service the upcoming defence corridor in the State and help the investors and industries get a fast connectivity route to Delhi.
