The goodwill around the celebration of International Yoga Day (21 June) in Bareilly's Aala Hazrat Dargah didn't last more than two weeks as FIR has been registered against six people.
Dargah head Subhani Miya's son Mustahasan Raza Khan registered an FIR against Jamat Raza Mustafa's national president and five others for conducting Yoga exercises and soorya namaskar on Dargah premises.
The event sparked controversy soon after its conduct with ulemas across the country and the world questioning it. However, the matter cooled down.
But it again caught fire after a phone call to Maulana Subhani Miya on Tuesday (4 July) that questioned the conduct of yoga on Dargah premises.
Triggered by the phone call, Maulana's son lodged a complaint at the police station on Wednesday. Consequently, an FIR was registered on the charges of defamation, threatening and a few others.
Jamat Raza Mustafa's national president Salman Hasan Siddiqui, Muhammad Shehzad Alam, Muhammad Ubaid Raza, Noor Alam, Anees Alam and Qazi Mushtaq Alam are named in the FIR.
