Congress leader Hardik Patel who rose to fame for leading a Patidar agitation was slapped at a public rally in Gujarat’s Surendranagar on Friday (19 April), ANI has reported.

As seen in the video, Hardik Patel was making a speech when a tall bearded barged up and slapped him in full public view. The assaulter looked very angry at Hardik Patel and was seen verbally lashing out at him after the slap.

Hardik Patel though decided to put up a brave fight and got into a physical altercation with the assaulter before his supporters overpowered the latter.

Incidentally, many Indian politicians have a history of being slapped in the public including AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee.

The assaults on Kejriwal though have not been limited to slaps and his critics have even hurled ink and eggs at him during rallies.
