West Bengal: After Tent Collapses During BJP Rally, PM Modi Intervenes To Ensure Timely Help For Injured

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi intervened to ensure that the injured get requisite care after a tent collapsed during a BJP rally in Midnapore, West Bengal, ANI has reported.

The PM stopped and directed his Special Protection Group (SPG) officials to help the injured before continuing his speech. He later met the injured in the hospital. At least 15 persons were injured during the incident as per The Indian Express.

PM Modi praised the resilience of the crowd in spite of rain and collapse of the tent at the end of his speech. One of the injured requested the PM's autograph, to which the PM obliged readily. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told ANI that she prayed for speedy recovery of injured and assured all possible government assistance.

The PM was addressing a farmers' rally in Midnapore earlier in the day. He highlighted the achievements of his government in the farm sector during the rally.
