Even as prolonged political crisis continues in Rajasthan over the fall in the strength of the Congress Government after the revolt by former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot and scores of MLAs, Chief Minister (CM) Ashok Gehlot has now shifted his guns and targets, reports Times of India.
Having put the blame squarely on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s senior leader from Rajasthan and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat by accusing him of leading the efforts to destabilise his Government, CM Gehlot has now widened his list of targets.
Yesterday (1 August), CM Gehlot accused Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan of being 'secretly' involved in the alleged role of the BJP behind Pilot and several other Congress MLA's move to stand up against the incumbent Government. However, he did not give any proofs or details to back his accusations.
CM Gehlot said, "The Prime Minister should step in and stop the tamasha (drama). Shekhawat's involvement in the conspiracy is now known. He should resign on moral grounds. Many others like Pradhan and Goyal are secretly involved. We know this but we aren't bothered. All we care for is democracy."
